Hair fall and loss occur in different ways in men and women. The most important reason for this difference is the hormonal differences between the two genders.

Male Type Hair Loss: As we all know, male type hair loss occurs at the top of the head and forehead. The major reason for this is that the hair follicles in these areas are hypersensitive to testosterone (male hormone). However, as the nape area and the area between two ears are resistant to hormonal changes, hair loss is rarely seen in these areas. As the hair between the nape and two ears are used in hair implant and transplantation procedures, there is no hair loss after transplantation. The reason for this is that such hair follicles are not affected by hormonal changes.

Hair Loss in Women: Hair fall and loss also affect women. Especially as a result of the hormonal changes that occur after menopause, problems such as limpness, weakness and shedding can be seen in the hair. Women sometimes try applications such as hair extensions and wigs to eliminate such problems. Mesotherapy and PRP (platelet-rich plasma) methods are effective in hair loss in women.
